IOmega 1 TB USB 2.0 Portable Hard drive is an excellent external storage device and is extremely efficient and user-friendly. It can be connected to the computer very easily by using USB 2.0. DESIGN: It measures only 7.8 x 1.8 x1.2 inches. The design is sleek and classy and this product weighs only 2.2 lbs. The device is quite hardy and comes in a dark silver color, which makes it quite fashionable. Also, being lightweight and small, it can fit into the user’s shirt, jeans or jacket pockets easily and can be carried around without much trouble. The drive has a rugged and flexible body, which can survive up to 4 foot falls. But there are some problems with the design. There’s no input power port, hence, computers without powered USB ports can’t access this device. Also, the ports don’t have any covers are all exposed. They are open to dirt. These things should have been taken care of.

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS: This device needs minimum 300MHz processor, a USB connection, Microsoft Windows Vista, 2000, 2000 professional, XP home, XP professional, XP professional x 64 to run properly. Minimum 256 MB RAM is also necessary. For MAC users, MAC Power PC G3 or Intel Core duo processor is needed. MAC OS X version 10.3-10.5 and minimum 128 MB RAM is required.

PERFORMANCE: The data transfer speed is about 480 MBps, which makes this device extremely fast. Buffer size is 8MB. It is EPA Energy Star compliant, which makes it environment friendly.

EXTRAS: This device comes with a connection cable, quick install guide, HTML user manual with help files, Trend Micro internet security 1 year free download, EMC retrospect express software license files (the software can be downloaded), 2 GB per month online data storage at Mozyhome. An AC adapter is included. A vertical stand is also provided.

This product is excellent for data storage and the price is totally affordable. The device has value for money. The data transfer speed is superb, so are the online support and the service. Overall, this is a pretty good external hard drive that serves its basic purpose of data storage perfectly and at the same time charms the user with its superb ensemble of features and softwares.
